Soh Lee Weng (CG-Peter Cheong, PJS1)

Oliver Ho & Soh Lee Weng
1. Which is the most important spiritual lesson I have learnt?
Session 1: The Father Heart of God, made the biggest impact during the weekend. When Pastor Chris preached about the Father and the prodigal son, it showed God's greatest patience and love for us. I have learnt about the true meaning of genuine repentance. Confessing our sins and taking a big U-turn away from it. I have sinned against the Father and kept repeating the same mistakes in the past. These have affected my beloved girlfriend, family, friends and career, and most significant of all is my relationship with Jesus.

We kneeled and prayed during end of Session 1. First thing that came into mind, was not to cry. I am used to crying, but somehow decided not to do so at the BMEW. I have experienced two types of tears in the church. First, is the 'normal crying', where I will feel a pain in the heart, follow by discomfort at the eyes, then expecting tears. Second is, tears will just flow down continuously without me realizing or expecting it. I have experienced the latter during this session. Maybe it is due to God's grief, love and forgiveness.

I do not usually see a vision. I saw Jesus sat on a chair fit for a king, in the middle of a huge garden. Then, a small boy ran towards Him for His touch and forgiveness. I am the boy and Jesus is tall, with broad shoulders and some beards. He is not only handsome, but just magnificent.

2. What has transacted between you and God this weekend?

God's sacrifices to redeem us.

3. How did you feel before and after the Encounter Weekend?
We have delayed the BMEW since last year. In fact, we almost missed this weekend due to my fault. I am very blessed that God sent my girlfriend Sook Ling to push me to take up the responsibilities and learn to be a leader. I did not prepare anything and just went ahead. The problems and situations will still be there after BMEW. I do hope I will keep up the momentum and not slow down again. Thus, I do feel a little better after the weekend.

Pastor Chris shared about his wife and children. I am truly amazed by the values and principals shared by him. If I can learn one lesson from the weekend, it is about how much Pastor Chris loves his wife. I pray to God to bless me into a better guy for my girlfriend.

4. Why should others attend the Encounter Weekend?

BMEW is not just a course for baptism. It offers much more than we could expect. Please prepare yourselves prior to the weekend, as you will be truly blessed. Open you mind and heart, and be sensitive to God.
