Evis Tan (CG-Essie Wong, PJS2)

1. What is one most important spiritual lesson I have learnt?

God is faithful. He never leaves or forsakes me since I was backslide. He is always at the doorstep and once I pop up on the horizontal line, He welcomes me and draws me to His side. Therefore, when I decided to restructure my lifestyle and give focus to Him, He leads me. He gave me a job, accommodation and what are most important are the cell group and DUMC church. From here, I am growing. This is shown, when I repent, He showed me the way and lead me to grow spiritually, mentally and physically. However, I will always will bear in mind that I do not take God’s forgiveness and mercy for granted and not to cause wounds to Him again.

Live a Christian life as not a believer only, but as a disciple.

2. What has transacted between you and God this weekend?

He healed my wounds and bitterness. He sets me free from baggages and bondages when we kneel before Him and asked for forgiveness.

I was happy to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongue that I previously could not get used to it since I was from Wesley Methodist Church’s background. In my opinion, it is a gift from God but not supposed to practice it. But when I joined DUMC, I start to realized, understood and learn the importance of speaking in tongue which help a Christian to do spiritual warfare, prayers and as a continuous booster to our spiritual life against flesh and blood.

3. How did you feel before and after the Encounter Weekend?

I came with the heart of expectation. I said to God I want to experience You. I prayed for inner and emotional healing, take away baggages and bondages. I prayed God would ready myself to receive speaking in tongue as well. I want the breakthrough of my life that a Christian’s life should be. God answered my prayer and He helped me throughout the weekend. I felt His presence. I was touched since in the very beginning of the course. I felt joy and alert all the time and received & understood each and every single word that Pastor Chris said. I was really blessed. I felt lighten up. I was smiling when I submitted the names of people that need to be forgiven.

I was blessed and thankful as well that I can involved in tambourine dancing which is part of the music worship ministry which I never thought of before. I would like to serve God, submit and commit myself to Him for the rest of my life. I pray that He will guard my heart that would never went astray again from Him in future forever and in whatever circumstances. Indeed, serve Him wholeheartedly by God’s help. Thank you Lord, praise the Lord!

4. Why should others attend the Encounter Weekend?

For those who willing to experience breakthrough in their life, encounter bundles of God’s blessing which give you endless joy from bottom of your heart that may lead you to transform the life of others as well.
